We have been doing a lot of stuff about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan lately in S.S.( social studies). We have seen demonstration after demonstration after demonstration of tsunamis and earthquakes and I can't take it anymore! If I have to see one more tsunami demonstration I think I'm gonna explode! In other news, we are working on making better sentences in Writing. I don't know what is going on in Math because I'm in Pre-Algebra. If you want to know what's going on in Math, ask someone else. In Reading, we are working on the 7 types of feature articles. In Ms. White's Math RTI, we have been making pictures of the recession America is having right now. And in Mrs. Hatchett's Reading RTI, we have continued reading "To Kill A Mockingbird" (great book). If you want to know what is going on in other RTIs, read what I said about Math class. That's all I have time for today. Kudos!

P.S.: Don't eat to much whipped cream or you'll feel terrible and puke. Don't ask how I know this.

Asia
This week in Social Studies we talked about how workers in Asia mostly make our clothing. We did skit about how the working conditions in their factories are not very good. They get paid about 21 cents a hour. They don't have near as much Human Rights as we do, so they have to work overtime and sometimes even get abused. If someone gets fired then the person or people in that department have to work twice as hard as they did with the other person there.

It's "Comma" Sense
In language arts we have been learning about commas. They can separate independent clauses like: My Grandma Maggie is old, but she likes to run a mile. It's comma sense where to use a comma.
Fun Fact:Commas can also be a group of butterflies!

A Great Week
Last week we did a web quest in Language Arts. We are currently learning about the different types of rocks in Science. We presented our advertisement projects in Reading which was very fun. Then, in math we are learning to solve equations with variables. In Ms. White's Math and Reading RTI, we are MUMMIFYING A CHICKEN, and it is VERY disgusting. In Ms. Hatchett's reading RTI, we are reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" we just finished chapter 8.

So sad!
I am sad to say that I haven't been near as good at keeping up with the class on our Blog as I had planned. I would love to post each day, but I believe I will be more successful if there is one post per week, just to keep you updated! Look for your kids to make posts also! Hope each of you are enjoying our "summer" vacation!
